Each valued member brought with them a beautiful breath of fresh air and creative curating ideas. You can find out more about each composer-musician on the Team page here on our website. We owe enormous gratitude to these champions, working together online from across NSW, ACT, VIC, who listen to and file composer-submitted recordings, coordinate social content and playlists on the website, and sound out thoughts and ideas.

The Art Music Awards celebrated amazing Australian new music and performances. We were particularly excited to witness an emergence of a new generation of musical voices with special mentions to the many Making Waves featured composers who made the finalist and winner lists, including our very own co-founder, Lisa Cheney for Instrumental Work of the Year. Conductor and music educator Richard Gill passed away peacefully at this home in Sydney on the 28th of October. The industry continues to mourn our loss and celebrate the Richards immense contribution to Australian music and education. In our final playlist for , Making Waves celebrates the expansive and engaging exploration of the guitar in Australian new music! The guitar, in its various guises and combinations, offers composers a smorgasbord of sounds and techniques. Welcome to our special hour of Australian music for orchestral forces. This month we join the Australian arts community in mourning the passing of Richard Gill. Richard leaves behind an immeasurable legacy as conductor and educator.

His passion, education and support, directly and indirectly, influenced the careers of countless Australian composers and musicians featured here on Making Waves. Amanda is a purpose-driven communication professional with ten years of nonprofit and agency experience.

Making Waves - more impact with your projects

As vice president of marketing and communications for the foundation, Amanda oversees a team responsible for public relations, digital communications, events, and marketing. Formerly, Amanda was the communications director at the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board SASB , where she started and built the nonprofit's first communications department. In this role, she secured 12, media hits over the course of five years and ghostwrote contributed articles for executives including SASB's board chair Michael Bloomberg that earned placements in the New York Times , Financial Times , and Wall Street Journal.

Amanda also worked at Edelman, where she provided sustainability strategy and communication recommendations for 15 companies, including Humana, Burger King, Wrigley, and PwC. She is the author and illustrator of an environmental children's book entitled Quaid McQueen, Trash Machine and holds a BA in environmental studies and creative writing from Oberlin College.

As the vice president of human resources, John is directly responsible for the overall administration, coordination, evaluation, and strategy of the human resource function for the organization. He brings more than 10 years of professional experience in HR and recruiting. In addition, Angela has more than 10 years of property management experience. She attended San Francisco State University.

In March , Consuelo joined the Foundation's real estate department as the controller, where she supports property acquisitions, documents archiving, and payments of real estate- and construction-related expenses. Consuelo first joined Making Waves in , serving as the chief accountant for both the Foundation and the Making Waves Education Program. Other roles Consuelo has held at Making Waves include finance manager and controller of treasury, audit, and operations. Prior to Making Waves, she served as the operations manager at the California Nurses Association, as well as worked as the operations manager at the Making Waves Education Program.

Jacqueline is the controller at Making Waves Foundation. After graduating, she worked in many aspects of accounting, including at an accounting firm and at a private college.

She is excited to bring her experience and knowledge of the mission to Making Waves. Krista has served MWF in various capacities for eight years, including roles in development, communications, public relations, and business services. Currently, she is the executive liaison officer working closely with both the advancement and finance officers, in addition to the extended leadership team.


She brings more than 23 years of private equity experience where she held principal roles in management, investor relations, marketing, events, and project leadership. Following her pivotal work for several years alongside a philanthropist and business leader, she also directed a private family foundation which donated annually to Making Waves.

  7. In this capacity, she has been closely tracking the extraordinary progress of Making Waves over the past two decades and passionately works to carry out the vision and mission of MWF. Siobhan holds an undergraduate degree in accounting from the university of San Diego. As the senior business systems analyst, Rob is responsible for ensuring the successful completion of IT solutions via requirements gathering, analysis, project management support, quality assurance, deployment, and post-implementation support. He brings 30 years of enterprise IT experience to the organization.

    Most recently, Rob worked for M Squared Consulting in their utilities practice. Reyna is a first-generation college student. While in her last semester at Cal, she obtained a tutoring job at the Making Waves Education Program.
